Kenya wildlife Walking safaris in Kenya are probably one of the most exciting and in-demand activities in the Kenyan bush, and, together with conventional game viewing by vehicle, provide indelible memories of the scents and sounds of wild Kenya. Walking in Kenya' describes the strict limits within which camps were previously constrained by Kenyan Park rules so far as walking was concerned. It then explains the way in which we have been able to develop the classic Walking Safari concept here after all. Walking is prohibited in most of Kenya's national parks and reserves; driving is often the only option. So bush walks and walking safaris are not widely available. However, walking safaris are increasingly offered in many of the wildlife conservancies as well as on some of the older, established private ranches.
Often low-key walking safaris in Kenya are referred to as 'bush walks' - and many of these will emphasize the walking, culture and scenery, rather than big game encounters. Only a few camps however can offer longer walks or what we'd call “proper” walking safaris.
Kenya wildlife Walking &Trekking Safaris
Although most famous for its game-rich national parks, Kenya boasts a key draw for trekkers too: Mount Kenya (5199m). This three million year old extinct volcano is the highest mountain in Kenya and second-highest (after Kilimanjaro) in Africa. It lies just south of the equator but was once completely covered by a thick ice cap which remained for thousands of years. When most of it melted at the end of the last ice age, the slopes were exposed to a large amount of erosion which helped form many classic U-shaped valleys and large areas of scree. The rough terrain and height of the mountain mean that it is one that serious trekkers just have to ‘bag’.

6 Days Loita Hill wildlife Walking Safari
The Loita Hills are one of Kenya's last remaining true wilderness areas. The low-lying mountain range is located south of Nairobi and northeast of the Masai Mara. This area is rarely visited and as a result it is widely believed that the most traditional Maasai culture exists here. There are pockets of remote forests, wide open plains surrounded by the stunning hillsides and dotted with roaming wildlife. This isn't an area for viewing big game but more somewhere to enjoy the scenery, walk with the local Maasai and learn more about their culture and communities. A wonderfully peaceful place to begin or end a safari trip in Kenya.
4 days Aberdares wildlife  Walking Safari
The Aberdare National Park, with an area of 767 Km2 covers the higher areas of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges of Central Kenya, from altitude of 1829M to 4001M above sea level. The topography is quite diverse with deep ravines that cut through the forested eastern and western slopes. Animals easily observed in the park include; the Black Rhino, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey and sykes monkey. Rarer sightings include those of lions, the golden cat and the bongo- an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Animals like the eland and spotted and melanistic serval cats can be found higher up in the moorlands.
Visitors can also indulge in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping in the moorlands. Bird viewing is rewarding, with over 250 species of birds in the park, including the Jackson's Francolin, sparry hawk, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds and plovers.
ACTIVITY OPTIONS, Game viewing, Camping, Trekking and walking , Bird watching, Photography, Horse riding

5 days Chyulu Hills wildlife walking safari

The Chyulu Hills is a mountain range in eastern Kenya. It forms a 100 kilometre long volcanic field in elongated NW-SE direction. Its highest peak is 2188 metres high

A magical land of black frozen lava studded with blazing red-hot poker trees: of shoals of extinct volcanoes wreathed in dense forest abs hung with Spanish moss, the Chyulu hills coil a sleeping dragon on the lion-gold plains of his treasure. The pink haloed peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rises to the west and all around stretch the mirage miles of Maasai land, dusty, dry and stalked by scarlet cloaked herders and dust plumed cattle.

The Park comprises the eastern flanks of Chyulu Hills including about half the forest area. The park boundary runs down the centre of the hills along the lines of the peaks. The remaining western portion of the hills is part of the west Chyulu Game Conservation Area and owned by several Maasai Group ranches
ACTIVITY OPTIONS: Game viewing, Camping, Mountain Hiking, Horse Riding, Bird Watching.
