Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Baringo

Depart Nairobi in the early morning stopping enroute to view the spectacular Great Rift Valley. We stop for lunch along the way then set up camp in Lake Baringo in the late afternoon. As long as the wind conditions are favorable, we enjoy an evening boat ride in search of hippo, crocodile, and birds. A bird watcher’s haven but beware, this is malaria land so its best to come prepared with plenty of mosquito repellant.

Day 2: Lake Bogoria & Lake Nakuru

Break camp after an early breakfast and drive 30km south to the spectacular Lake Bogoria. Lunch en route before proceeding towards the Lake Nakuru national park. At 180sq km an afternoon game drive will suffice to explore this small but interesting park with habitats which include grass, bush, euphorbia, acacia forests and rocky cliffs home to baboons and rock hyraxes. Dinner and overnight at budget hotel.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

Break up camp after breakfast then depart towards Mai Mahiu and Narok town with lunch en route before arriving at Masai Mara game reserve. View game en route towards our Talek campsite situated at the edge of the park. Dinner and overnight at camp.Hot showers and flash toilets are available in the camp and meals are served in the dinning area.
Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. NOTE: The Wildebeest migration has now left the Maasai Mara and they are in the Serengeti National Park heading south to where they will give birth in February – March next year.

Day 4 & 5: Mara Full days

Early morning and late afternoon game drives returning to the campsite for lunch. Option to visit Masai village or local school. Alternatively spend the entire day on a game drive (with packed lunches) returning to the campsite in the early evening hours. (Recommended during July/ August during the annual wildebeest migration). The Mara Reserve covers 1510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands, following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in southwest Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife.
Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara Park you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffalos, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife
